Nostalgia is Burning

1hey:

And I’ll swim the ocean for you.

“You don’t owe people the person you used to be. You don’t have to talk to people who are speaking to the old you. If they want to drag old you out, and you’ve already left that person behind, they don’t get to talk to you. When you’ve gone from weakness to strength, you don’t owe a show of your former self to someone who just can’t wrap their head around your change.”

It’s getting worse again

“I know it’s over, and it never really began, but in my heart it was so real.”

This is more entertaining than it should be.

Forced interactions?

It’s hard to find someone worth talking to. And sometimes it’s exhausting to talk to people, especially new people. There is so much you don’t know about that person and the idea of the process of getting to know someone is a long and tiring process. Because sometimes in the end, the relationship or friendship goes nowhere or it inevitably ends at some point in time. I no longer have the energy to put myself through that. Evidently, people in my life don’t stick around.

I get confused

When people I barely knew, suddenly talk to me out of the blue.

Especially when we have nothing to do with each other anymore.

We no longer have the same friends, we no longer go to the same school.

We have entirely different lives with entirely different identities.

I don’t mind talking to these people that unconventionally talk to me. It’s always nice to talk to new and different people. But I just wonder.. What do they suddenly want from me? Why do they talk to me now when they have never bothered to talk to me before?

Would it be rude of me to bluntly ask what the meaning of this suddenly new and random interaction is?
